What started as a childhood love for holiday lights has grown into one of Long Island’s trusted lighting installation companies. For owner John Schepanski, this business is more than lights — it is family, legacy, community, and carrying forward the spirit of the people who inspired him most.
A Passion That
Started at Age 5
John started decorating with his dad when he was just 5 years old. Every year, they would add more lights, blow molds, and decorations from Harrow’s and Pergament’s, turning their home into something the neighborhood looked forward to.
After losing his father at only 15, John knew he had to continue his dad’s spirit and make the displays even bigger. That passion stayed with him, and by 18, he began installing Christmas lights for clients through his landscaping business. The rest is history.
Driven by Love, Legacy & Purpose
John’s mother’s favorite holiday was Halloween, which inspired him to create a large Halloween display, including a haunted house on the family’s side property. Neighbors from all over would visit, and the display welcomed over 700 kids every Halloween.
His father has always been his biggest inspiration for continuing the lighting business. After losing his mother in a fatal car accident in 2025, John’s drive became even stronger.

Today, with his daughter Julianna joining the company as Vice President, J’s Complete continues to grow as a family-run business built on hard work, pride, and service.
